Hi!
I'm Dina Waxman.
I'm a film director, screenwriter, photographer, and musician.

I started taking photographs when I was a teenager using my mom's Nikon from the '70s . Nowadays I still use the lens from my mom's camera, but on an adaptor with a digital camera, so it has all the perks of digital photography but still has the look of vintage glass.

For many years, as I established myself in film and music, photography went by the wayside. I had my hands full working as a script supervisor, writing and directing short films, and playing in bands.
Additionally, with the advent of digital photography, everyone was suddenly a photographer, and I lost interest in the medium as an art form. But as I got older, I saw how digital photography was diminishing the significance of the single image, and I became interested in capturing particularly special moments in a particularly special way.

As with filmmaking and music, my efforts in photography are as much about connection and collaboration as they are about the form itself. Doing these portraits feels magical and important to me. I lost my mom when I was young, and I wish I had a proper portrait of her and my brother and me. It seems related to this that I developed a keen interest in capturing the loved ones of others in a way that feels truly meaningful.

It would be my honor to do this for you.
